At D.E.S. we treat waste to an acceptable and safe level. We do this using the process of Anaerobic Digestion and Pasteurisation.

Firstly, we screen waste coming into the site to remove plastics etc. This is a thorough process which leaves us with a product fit for anaerobic digestion.

During Anaerobic Digestion we use a closed reactor absent of oxygen. This coupled with a set temperature creates an environment ideal for anaerobic bacteria growth. These bacteria work to break down the organic matter in the waste. This process leads to the production of Digestate and Biogas.

Our digestate is an organic product which is full of beneficial nutrients. It can be used as a natural alternative to chemical fertilizers.

Biogas can then be used to create energy. This is a renewable energy that is carbon neutral, thus beneficial to the environment.

After anaerobic digestion, the digestate is then pasteurised. This eliminates any harmful bacteria left in the digestate.

We are then left with a highly sought after fertilizer which promotes crop growth.
